California cannabis flower recalls — every DCC recall for this product type

Flower is California cannabis's most-recalled product type. The dominant failure mode is microbial contamination — primarily Aspergillus mold species detected during DCC sampling or post-market lab testing. Aspergillus can grow during cultivation, drying, curing, or storage, and California's action limit triggers a mandatory recall when species like fumigatus, flavus, or niger are found above threshold. A meaningful minority of flower recalls also cite pesticide contamination, especially during the 2024 Chlorfenapyr enforcement wave that targeted multiple vape and flower brands.

Label and data-pipeline failures appear on flower recalls less frequently than on edibles or beverages, but they do appear — usually as "Inaccurate Labeling (Cannabinoid inflation)" findings where the printed THC percentage exceeds what the laboratory measured. Mixed recalls (contamination AND label findings on the same notice) are concentrated in flower because flower batches tend to have both surfaces in play: a printed potency claim AND a microbial sample result.
